Fast Company: How 29-Year Old Ellen Bennett Became Culinary World's Apron Queen

"If you’ve visited a fine dining establishment lately–maybe Ink, Momofuko, Trois Mec–or even a fast-casual joint like Sweetgreen or Shake Shack, chances are you’ve seen cooks and waiters wearing crisp, colorful aprons made of luxurious materials finished off with brass and nickel fixtures. These are likely Hedley & Bennett aprons."

It's pretty surreal to type this out, but we are so honored that we got to share our story with Fast Company!! From cutting carrots at Providence restaurant in Los Angeles to designing a custom apron complete with tulle for Jesse Tyler Ferguson to host the 2017 James Beard Awards, it's been one crazy adventure and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Elizabeth Segran's "How 29-Year Old Ellen Bennett Became Culinary World's Apron Queen" chronicles Ellen's business journey even though she "never set out to become a CEO." But we are pretty thankful here at the apron HQ that Ellen's tenacity, determination, and conviction to “take life by the lapels" led her to create Hedley & Bennett. It's been an incredible team effort and we couldn't do any of it without the #apronsquad support, hustle, friendship, and community.

You gotta see to believe the customized apron Ellen made for Jesse, and let us make your apron dreams come true by customizing one for you!
